Road to Dakar – 2025
From Romania to Senegal on two 125cc scooters.
Two scooters. Nine countries. Dakar.
On 1 October 2025, Mihály Alpár and Bertici Attila set off on two SYM ADX 125 scooters. By 20 October, we had covered 8,250 kilometres from Romania to Senegal on the 12-horsepower machines.
The European stage
Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, France and Spain formed the first major stage. The route then continued towards Africa: Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal.
Morocco and the Atlas
The Atlas Mountains were among the important places on the road to Dakar. The mountains and the desert stretches of the African route gave a very different backdrop to the kilometres covered on our two small scooters.
From Mauritania to Senegal
Diawling National Park and the Diama border crossing were also among the journey’s key locations. In Senegal came Saint-Louis and Dakar, the African destination of the story that had begun in Romania.
